the xi'an event of the nationwide 2022 china cybersecurity week kicked off on sept 5 at the daming palace national heritage park – in xi'an, capital of northwest china's shaanxi province – and will wind up on sept 11.
themed on "cybersecurity for the people and by the people", the 2022 china cybersecurity week was organized by 10 government departments, including the cyberspace administration of china, the ministry of education and the ministry of public security.

during the ongoing xi'an event, a raft of special activities will be held – such as an exhibition on the city's important achievements in cybersecurity and technology application and six major theme day activities. as well, xi'an primary and secondary school students will participate in a cybersecurity knowledge competition and there will also be cybersecurity lectures.
the activities are expected to publicize the development achievements and scientific and technological achievements of cybersecurity and guide xi'an's public to improve their cybersecurity awareness and skills.
also, districts, counties and development zones in xi'an and municipal departments are seen boosting their data security and personal information protection in pandemic prevention and control. also set to get a boost, is publicity of new technologies and applications – such as 5g and artificial intelligence in the field of cybersecurity – through distributing brochures, putting up posters and holding knowledge prize contests.
xi'an is one of the eight major node cities for the domestic internet, the core hub of the country's public computer network and its multimedia information network in northwest china, and it is also the first silk road mobile smart city.
currently, xi'an is moving to grasp its opportunities and is in a key development period for the construction of a strong network city and a smart city. that's with its cybersecurity awareness and protection capabilities improved, the cybersecurity industry and its market scale growing and related personnel training and scientific research capabilities ranking among the top in the country.
